Our Senior Pastor
John D. Young, M.Div.

Pastor John is an energetic, prophetic preacher and evangelist who has been blessed with the opportunity to share the love of Jesus through varies venues and platforms. A native of Savannah, Georgia, he yielded to the voice of God in 2007 and accepted his call into ministry. His 2010 initial sermon entitled "When You put it in God's Hands!" holds true as he declared with boldness the goodness of God moving in the life of the Prophet Habakkuk. 

Affectionately called "Little John," he is on a mission to partners with a group of believers seeking to reignite the passion, renew the commitment, and REFRESH the church! His desire is for the church to be "W.E.L.L." Worshipping, Evangelizing, Learning, but most of all LOVING!"

As an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Pastor John has served St. John AMEChurch (EastPoint, GA); Saint Paul AME Church (Brunswick, Ga); Greater Saint Mark AME Church (Columbus, GA) and currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Antioch East AME Church of Conyers, Georgia. Prior to entering into full-time ministry, Pastor John was an administrator at Savannah State University, Big Bethel AME Church (Atlanta, GA) and Saint Paul AME Church (Atlanta, GA). Additionally, he was an educator in the Fulton County Public Schools System and Douglass County Public School System. 

Pastor John is the past president (2004-2012) of the Sixth Episcopal District Young People's and Children's Division, where he worked tireless to lead others towards salvation. Under his leadership the Soul-Saving 6th District YPD conducted workshops that dealt with bullying, gang violence, sexual identity Christian leadership and spiritual growth. Additionally, he advocated for balance in the life of the YPD through a variety of programs, events, and retreats. 

Pastor John’s favorite scripture is “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2 ESV

Pastor John received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Savannah State University and a Master of Divinity from Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia.

He is married to Lady Chasity E. Gathers-Young and is the father of Israel Jacob.
